We took note of the drive’s temperature during some of our benchmarking runs. The WD Red SN700 doesn't have a heatsink, but it's designed for use in NAS devices which usually have good airflow design. The hottest the drive got was when it was being pushed very hard during the Performance Stability test run when it peaked at 63° C.
