ECS LIVA X2 Mini PC Review

boxfront

The ECS LIVA X2 ships in a glossy silver box, with no product images on the top of the box

The box does not give much away about the X2, though there are some specs on the side as well as a small picture.

Inside, you get the small power brick, complete with both European and UK socket adapters, and a handy VESA mount. The VESA mount supports both 100mm and 75mm configurations so you are likely to be able to attach it to your monitor. The necessary screws are also provided.

There is also a driver disc which makes installing drivers a big faff – as obviously the tiny X2 does not have an optical drive bay. Finally, there is the standard product information booklet I don't think anyone reads.

DLSS 5 NVIDIA

KitGuru Games: DLSS 5 misses the point

It would be hard to argue that NVIDIA’s DLSS technologies haven’t been a net positive to the PC space, with the machine-learning based upscaler successfully translating lower resolution inputs into a final image which is perceivably sharper while hogging fewer resources. Though somewhat more contentious, the next evolution of DLSS came in the form of Frame Generation, using ML in order to generate additional frames for high-refresh rate gaming. Both techniques can have their issues, but generally speaking they’ve allowed for more people to experience higher-end titles at increased frame rates. DLSS 5, however, takes a sharp pivot, with a very different end goal in mind than the performance-boosting versions that came before.
