To test power consumption today we measure power consumption from the whole system when idle and when gaming, excluding the monitor.
Under gaming load, the Sapphire R9 390X Tri-X system consumes just over 350 watts. By comparison, the Asus GTX980 Strix system consumes only 282 watts – around 70 watts less.
